Ramon Allones Cuban Cigars

Ramon Allones Cuban Cigars is one of the biggest names names in the history of Habanos. Founded in 1837 it is one of the oldest cigar manufacturing brands still in production. The Ramon Allones brand is supposedly the first cuban cigars brand to have utilized colorful lithographs for box art, and the first brand to have used bands on its cigars. The brand was created by two brothers, Ramon Allones and Antonio Allones, who were born in Galicia, Spain. Ramon Allones was considered an innovator tobacconist because he was a pioneer in the packaging we know today. These colorful designs are part of the artistic patrimony and are appreciated by aficionados and cigar collectors today. He also introduced the 8-9-8 format where twenty-five cigars are packed in three rows, of eight, nine and eight units each. Ramon Allones started manufacturing his cigars in Havana at 129 Animas Street. The brand went through numerous ownership changes before it was finally bought by the Cifuentes family and production was moved to the famous Partagas Factory, where Ramon Allones cigars are still made to this day. The cigars share many characteristics with those of its cousin brand Partagas, although they have always been produced in smaller quantities, possibly to ensure higher quality production of cigars. These days Ramon Allones is know for its strong and savory taste. All of its vitolas are still hand-made in the Partagas factory and all the tobacco comes from the Vuelta Abajo region of Cuba. Amongst the most famous of the brandïs cigars are the Gigantes and the Specially Selected.
