Cuban Reviews

Montecristo #2
The Montecristo #2 is a famous Cuban cigar with an absolutely impeccable construction. This stogie is for lack of a better
word, gorgeous! Sit back, light up and savor the immense flavors of rich wood and tinges of spice; here is cigar that
embodies the true character of Havana.

I just got the chance to taste some of the most enjoyable cigars in my life... However, it was quite difficult
not to feel a little overwhelmed by Montecristo #2 so I suggest you smoke it slowly instead of rushing into
it!. Date Added: 07/27/2009 by Johnathan Lane

Cohiba Robustos
Another superb cigar from Cohíba! There are precious few authentic Cubans in this vitola and not surprisingly this is one of
the best. Cohíba implemented their finest craftsmanship to let all of the precious flavors in this cigar come to life. A very
rich, spicy taste combined with the earthy wooden tones notorious of Cohíba yield a pleasing sensation for all, from novice
smokers to savvy aficionados.

I usually don’t smoke robustos but one of my friends recomended me to try Cohiba. So I did! While not
very impressive at the begining, after just few smokes the cigar made me not regret my decision to try
these cohibas.

Hoyo de Monterrey Epicure No. 2
Another cigar to accurately represent Hoyo de Monterrey’s sweet, sophisticated line of mild Cubans. This fine robusto is
excellent, excellent, and excellent, with a smooth, even burn and a splendorous mix of pleasing flavors. The sweet
overtones of dried fruits and cacao with a note of cinnamon for extra pep liven, but don’t distract from the delicious flavor
of Cuba’s finest tobacco leaves.

Not necessarily the best habanoin the world, hoyo no. 2 is however one of the most tasteful… epicure is a
real pleasure not only for Hoyo de Monterrey fans, but for all aficionados!

Cohiba Siglo VI
Another cigar to accurately represent Hoyo de Monterrey’s sweet, sophisticated line of mild Cubans. This fine robusto is
excellent, excellent, and excellent, with a smooth, even burn and a splendorous mix of pleasing flavors. The sweet
overtones of dried fruits and cacao with a note of cinnamon for extra pep liven, but don’t distract from the delicious flavor
of Cuba’s finest tobacco leaves.

Not a great cigar to start your passion for habanos for sure… Very strong and complex in sensations, it is
too much for a beginner. However, more experienced smokers will love these cohibas…

Partagas Lusitanias
For many smokers, the Lusitania is the indisputable number one Habano. Being one of the classic Prominentes, a very long
cigar, it requires patience and concentration and is not one for beginners. Described by some as the best Habano ever for
its rich complex flavors - a mélange of chocolates, wood and spice with a hint of honey towards the end.

I personally love stronger cigars, but I enjoyed that these lusitanias are sweet in a strange way… the
mixture of wood and chocolate makes them quite a smoke!

Ramon Allones Gigantes
This Ramón Allones cigar in prominente format is a memorable smoke. The predominant notes are floral, nutty and herbal
flavors, all of which are greatly balanced. It is thick and smooth, and neither too spicy nor overwhelming, yet has an exotic
sweetness which gains body throughout the length of the cigar.

Exotic is the proper word to describe allones gigantes… a pack of these was the present for my last
birthday and I simply felt like dreaming with each smoke I took…

Romeo y Julieta Churchills
A very impressive cigar, and was also the preferred cigar of Sir Winston Churchill. This Churchill has a very strong taste, and
may be too strong for those who are new to cigar-smoking, but more experienced smokers will be able to appreciate its
potency. It has the classic Romeo y Julieta fruity flavors and aromas – black cherry, pralines and nougat along with some
floral notes.

Tasting Romeo y Julieta churchills was like feeling classy flavors and smells for me… Not a big admirer of
this brand, I still fell in love with the excellent combination of fruits and coffee…

Bolivar Belicosos Finos
Bolivar Belicosos Finos feature an intense taste with very light over-sweet touches with slightly hot notes having a very
greasy end in the mouth. Bolivar Belicosos Finos are considered as an excellent shot, with very good and homogeneous
combustion. Other features for Bolivar Belicosos Finos are: scent sensitive at coldness and appears in hit starting from the
second third.

I have always avoided intense cigars as I liked simpler flavors from my habanos… Last week however, I
got to smoke Bolivar’s belicosos and I now understand the aficionados that ask for complexity from their cigars!

H.upmann Magnum 50
The Magnum 50 is a new vitola to the H. Upmann line-up and perfect to round off an already wholesome line of fine Cuban
cigars. Released into full production after its immense success as an Edicion Limitada in 2005, this double robusto is so rich
and complex it takes a true aficionado to really appreciate. H. Upmann Magnum 50s are a powerful smoke with a flawless
draw. Creamy, silky smoke with a slightly sweet aroma make this double robusto a must own. Comment: To smoke an H.
Upmann Magnum 50 properly you must have ample downtime. This cigar can take long, long time… perfect for meditation
and personal reflection.

I have a box of Hupmann Magnum 50 for three years in my humidor and I recently remembered of it and
tried them with some of my friends. Although I prefer something smoother, this is by far the best cigars
I’ve ever smoked…

Partagas Serie D#4
The Partagás Serie D No. 4 is known as one of the best Robustos in the world, and is the best-selling cigar in France. A
complex and delicious smoke, the start is a little spicy with hints of wood and cinnamon, with increasing peppery notes
towards the powerful finish.

Smoked a pack of these in a few months and I found them to be quite flavorous… I would have enjoyed
them more if they were less spicy, but I will definitely buy another pack of partagas d4 again!
